CLASSES AND SMALL GROUPS

  • ALPHA

    WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

Eight Wednesday evenings January 18-March 8, 6:15-8:30pm, plus a bonus post-course sessions on healing, evil, and the Church, March 15-29). A casual introduction to Christianity and the Bible that originated in the hipster and financial districts of London, originally aimed at seekers and skeptics. It’s turned out to be helpful, however, for anyone with questions about their faith, or with not even enough information to ask questions yet!

Alpha provides childcare for little ones, and begins with catered hot dinners, good music, warm conversation, cool topical presentations on the Bible and Christianity — and leaves time at the end of each night’s session for small group breakouts – for you to ask your own questions, and learn from one another. The first evening is free, but a registration fee applies for the rest of the program to cover meals and materials.

Like to read? This 2nd Saturday Morning Women’s Book Group takes has attendees take turns picking books and being the lead presenter/conversation-guide on the book each woman selects, with back-up from the group leaders. Women of any age are welcome; most participants are in their 30s-60s, and come from a broad range of backgrounds and outlooks, but with coffee and baked goods, something awesome always happens. Books selected tend to be secular NYT bestseller fiction, biographies, histories, and occasionally, “Christian fiction” too. Recent ones include Between Sundays, Same Kind of Different as Me, Go set a Watchman, Ghost Boy, I am Malala, The Prayerbox, and At the Water’s Edge. TUESDAY MORNINGS

This group consists of faithful, caring women who embrace the Word of God in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Although our group is informal, we have lively and meaningful discussions focusing on God’s word and how it applies to each of us in 2016.
