CLASSES AND SMALL GROUPS

  • ALPHA

    WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

What is Alpha?  Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, run over ten weeks.  But at its heart, Alpha is a time for food, a talk and good conversation.

Food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.

Next, we share a talk exploring a big issue around faith and unpacking the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?

Finally, and probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

Everyone is welcome.  Learn more.

  • WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

    WEDNESDAY MORNINGS

This women’s study group gathers weekly for two or three Bible or topical studies a year, including those by Beth Moore and Lisa Harper.

Job: A Story of Unlikely Joy

In this video study by Lisa Harper, you’ll discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. You’ll learn to use pain to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and remember God’s providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you. Study lasts for seven weeks starting on January 16.

The Sacrament of Happy:
What a Smiling God Brings to a Wounded World

In her new book, Lisa Harper unveils that happiness is a gift from God that we can unashamedly enjoy — dismantling the old-school idea that joy, not happiness, is the truly spiritual emotion, and asserting that Christ-followers are actually called to happiness. Study lasts for ten weeks starting on March 6. (The group will not meet March 13 due to spring break.)

  • MEN’S SACRED JOURNEY

    FIRST TUESDAY EVENINGS

Responding to people’s questions and challenges can get complicated. But what if you were confident you had the answer to the most important question about your faith?

Join the Men’s Sacred Journey group on Tuesday, Nov 6 (and continuing on the first Tuesday of each month) for an Andy Stanley video study about having an answer ready when we’re questioned about our faith. RSVP to Rick Hammel to participate in dinner at 5:30pm, or just come for the study from 6 to 7:15pm.
