Red Bag KC 2022

WHAT IS THE PROJECT?

Kaw Prairie is a generous community, especially at Christmas time. This year, we are partnering with Red Bag KC, a grassroots organization providing Christmas gifts for children in the foster care system and low-income families. Individuals, faith communities, businesses and organizations look over a child’s wish list, choose the items, shop for just the right things and add the wrapped gifts to the Red Bag for special delivery on Christmas morning. Since this local organization started tracking their impact in 2001, sponsors have filled red bags for 27,840 children in need.

HOW YOU CAN HELP…

We have committed to providing some Christmas joy to 15 children currently in the foster care system. Starting the first week of November, you and your family can sign-up to buy a couple of presents or sponsor all the gifts for a child. In the KP lobby, volunteers will be available each Sunday of November to help you sign-up to support this project and answer your questions. If you cannot make it or miss us on Sundays, click here to complete the online sign-up form and we will email you with additional details. Once assigned a child, shop with your family, wrap and mark the gifts with the recipient, and return to KP by Sunday, November 28.
